The Devout, a Depeche Mode tribute act born out of Speak and Spell, perform their greatest hits with high-fidelity production at Tramshed.
The Devout are playing Tramshed on Friday 27 November, a Depeche Mode tribute presented by Carbon Copy. They're a relatively new act, born out of 'Speak and Spell', which was billed as Europe's leading DM tribute and played Glastonbury as well as festivals across the continent. The same core member and production carry over into The Devout, so it's a continuation of that same approach rather than a fresh start.
They work through Depeche Mode's greatest hits with a focus on accuracy and production. One of their recent shows was a sellout Violator 30th Anniversary night, where they recreated the triple-platinum album in full. That was followed by a best-hits set that ran from 'Personal Jesus' and 'Enjoy the Silence' through to 'Stripped' and 'Just Can't Get Enough'.
The band describes themselves as the ultimate Depeche Mode tribute, relying on skill, talent, production and design to take the audience back to the kind of live gigs that helped Depeche Mode break through and become a worldwide act. It's that particular era they're aiming for, rather than just a run-through of the songs.
