The stage production of the internationally celebrated novel, following Chris Boone as he becomes both detective and suspect when a neighbour's dog is discovered killed.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time runs at the Donald Gordon Theatre in the Wales Millennium Centre from 27 April to 1 May 2027. It's based on the novel that sold 10 million copies, and the story follows Chris Boone, who's gifted with a brilliant mind for numbers but unsettled by the unpredictability of people and everyday life. He becomes both detective and suspect when a neighbour's dog is found killed, so the play works as a whodunnit and a coming-of-age story in one.
Joe McFadden stars as Chris, with Charlie Brooks playing his parents, Ed and Judy. The run is a short one, five days in total, with evening performances at 7.30pm from Tuesday to Saturday and matinees at 2.30pm on Thursday and Saturday. It runs for about two hours and 40 minutes, including one interval.
There are a few things to keep in mind before you book. The age guidance is 11+, with no under-2s, and anyone under 16 has to be seated with an adult aged 18 or over. The show may contain flashing or strobe lights, mild language and loud noises. If you're taking a younger one, it's worth checking those warnings first.
