SJM Concerts presents Reverend and the Makers live at Tramshed.
Reverend and the Makers play Tramshed on Tuesday 17 November, with SJM Concerts promoting. It's a Sheffield rock band fronted by Jon McClure, who goes by 'The Reverend'.
Before the project, McClure sang in Judan Suki and 1984, where he built an underground following and worked with Arthur Brown, John Cooper Clarke, Andy Nicholson of ex-Arctic Monkeys, Tom Rawley of Milburn, and Alex Turner, as well as producer Alan Smythe. For live shows, he put together 'The Makers', a superband of relatively unknown musicians. In October 2006, after extensive touring and a hardcore fanbase, they signed to Wall of Sound records.
Their 2007 debut, The State of Things, produced the UK top 10 single 'Heavyweight Champion of the World', a summer anthem for clubbers and festival-goers alike. Their second album, A French Kiss in the Chaos (2009), landed them a support slot on Oasis's final tour, playing venues such as Wembley Stadium. The Tramshed show will be a headline set with the band as the main feature.
