The West End comedy musical Mrs Doubtfire, based on the beloved film, brings its iconic moments and new songs to Cardiff.
Mrs Doubtfire is coming to the Donald Gordon Theatre in Cardiff, running from 23 March to 11 April 2027. It's the West End comedy musical based on the film, so it follows the same story but adds new songs and dance numbers to the mix.
If you know the movie, you know the setup: Daniel is an out-of-work actor who loses custody of his children in a messy divorce. To stay in their lives, he creates a Scottish nanny alter ego, Euphegenia Doubtfire, and gets hired by his own ex-wife. As the character takes on a life of its own, Mrs Doubtfire ends up teaching him more than he bargained for about how to be a father. Gabriel Vick plays Daniel, and the show runs for about two and a half hours, including an interval. Time Out called it 'genuinely funny', and The Telegraph and Daily Express both described it as a 'surefire hit'.
There are plenty of options for when to go. Evening shows run Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with matinees on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2.30pm, and a Sunday matinee at 2pm. Age guidance is 8+ with no under-2s, and under-16s have to be accompanied by a paying adult aged 18 or over.
