Stand-up comedy show Fully Dilated by Julian Clary at the New Theatre, where he reveals intimate secrets and personal traumas.
Julian Clary brings his new show, Fully Dilated, to the New Theatre on Sunday 9 May 2027. It's a stand-up set that leans into the personal, with Clary saying he's decided to open up to the public and reveal all, no longer hiding behind a stage persona. He promises to share intimate secrets of his life and the traumas that led him to become a camp comic and a renowned homosexual, telling things he says would get him flogged in Dubai and pointed at in Peckham.
If you've followed him for a while, you'll know that camp is exactly the word for it. Clary has been a presence across television, film and stage since the mid-1980s, and Fully Dilated sounds like it's taking the persona he's built over those decades and pulling it apart. The whole premise is about stepping out from behind the mask, so the set should be more about the man himself than the character we've come to expect.
