Stand-up comedy show Halftime by Leroy Brito, about turning 45 and stepping into his DILF era.
Leroy Brito brings his new show Halftime to the Donald Gordon Theatre at the Wales Millennium Centre on Saturday 6 December, 7.30pm. It's billed as his biggest and boldest show after 15 years in comedy, and the title gives it away: it's about the midlife shift. Brito is turning 45, accepting he's officially middle-aged, and stepping into what he calls his DILF era, told with confidence, warmth and sharp observational humour.
For Brito, the date is more than just another gig; it's a bit of a homecoming. He grew up in Butetown (Tiger Bay), a stone's throw from the Millennium Centre, and he wrote his first ever joke in the venue's Caffi. He later booked his first gig at Chapter Arts, so playing the Donald Gordon Theatre feels like coming full circle. He's known for his natural storytelling, and Halftime keeps that at the centre.
He's a familiar face on screen, too. He's had his own BBC Comedy Special, Live In Cardiff, and appeared in Netflix's Baby Reindeer and the BBC's Back in the Day and Secrets of the Comedy Circuit. On stage, he's supported the likes of Rhod Gilbert, Mo Gilligan, Guz Khan and Richard Blackwood.
