The smash-hit Broadway and West End musical Hadestown on its first UK and Ireland tour, exploring ancient Greek mythic love stories.
Hadestown plays at the Donald Gordon Theatre in the Wales Millennium Centre from 29 June to 3 July 2027, as part of its first UK and Ireland tour. It's the Broadway and West End musical written by singer-songwriter AnaΓ―s Mitchell and directed by Rachel Chavkin, which picked up eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album.
The show weaves together two Greek myths: the story of the young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone. It's a production that's seen over six million people in theatres and streamed by nearly a billion, so it's well-travelled by the time it reaches Cardiff. The Donald Gordon Theatre seats up to 1,900, and the show runs about two hours and 30 minutes, including one interval.
