Elvana is an Elvis-fronted Nirvana tribute band that performs Nirvana's catalogue with grunge and rockabilly influences.
Elvana are playing Tramshed on Friday 26 February 2027, and if the name doesn't ring a bell, the description usually does. They're an Elvis-fronted Nirvana tribute band, which is exactly what it sounds like: the grunge of the early nineties colliding with the King of Rock and Roll. It's a strange pairing on paper, but that's the whole point of the thing.
They describe their set as tearing through Nirvana's catalogue, with grunged-up sections of Elvis's finest moments woven in. The two styles run alongside each other throughout the night, rather than one taking over from the other, and it all builds towards what they call an audible overdrive of old-school rockabilly. So you'll get the heavy, distorted sound of the grunge years sitting right next to the swing and slap-back of the fifties.
It's a bit of a collision of eras, but it's the same band handling both. The Nirvana songs provide the bulk of the set, and the Elvis elements are worked into the mix rather than just tacked on as a separate section. If you're a fan of either, you'll recognise the songs, but you'll hear them in a combination you wouldn't find anywhere else.

The show runs from 6:30pm to 10:00pm, and tickets are £34.14, which includes the booking fee. That puts the start time a bit earlier than your usual night out, so it's more of a proper evening's entertainment than a late one. If you're into Nirvana, or if you've always wondered what Elvis would have sounded like with a distorted guitar and a grunge beat, this is the one to see.
