British grunge-rock-metal band Dinosaur Pile-Up perform live at the Tramshed in Cardiff.
Dinosaur Pile-Up play TramShed on Wednesday 14 April 2027, doors open at 19:00. They're a British grunge-rock-metal outfit fronted by West Yorkshire songwriter Matt Bigland, who returned to the band after a brief hiatus following health struggles.
Their sound draws on the melodic fuzz of grunge and indie rock, with influences including Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins and Rage Against The Machine. The band took its name from a scene in Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong film in which a load of dinosaurs literally pile up.
They've been building their catalogue for over a decade. After 2010's Growing Pains and 2013's Nature Nurture, they released Eleven Eleven in 2015, which is widely considered their strongest album to date. That led to a deal with Parlophone Records and their fourth album, Celebrity Mansions, which closes with 'Long Way Down', a song about Bigland's father, who died in a plane crash when he was eight. Their fifth album, I've Felt Better, came out in August 2025.
