Three-day new music festival Sŵn, part of the Cardiff Music City Festival, showcasing emerging talent across Cardiff's venues.
Sŵn returns to Cardiff from 15 to 17 October, three days of new music spread across the city's venues. It's Wales' leading new music discovery festival, and it's been a part of the city's cultural landscape since 2007. This year it's part of the Cardiff Music City Festival, two weeks of gigs, happenings and installations that bring together the city's best-loved venues and spaces.
The line-up is a long one, with homegrown and international emerging talent. You'll find 2Charm, Asidhara, Bambees, Bathing Suits, Bel Cobain, Blood Wizard, Blue Amber, Bureau De Change, Cardinals, Casi, Cerys Hafana, Chwaer Fawr, Cowboy Hunters, Dana Margolin, Dermot Henry, Disgusting Sisters, Dove Ellis, Esmerelda Road, Fatale, Foot Foot, Glasshouse, Red Spider Mite, Good Health Good Wealth, Heartpiece, HMLTD, Honeyglaze, ifan, James Emmanuel, Lacuna, Lafant, Lauren Auder, Little Grandad, Lo Rays, LSD and the Search For God, Lucia & The Best Boys, Maeve, Makeshift Art Bar, Modern Woman, MOULD, Nation Unrest, Painkiller, Personal Trainer, Pyncher, Pys Melyn, SexyTadhg, Shaking Hand, SHINOBII, SHLUG, Sold For Parts, Tai Haf Heb Drigolyn, The Dogs, The Joy Hotel, The Orielles, Theatre, Tokomololo, Tony Bontana, waverley, Working Men's Club, World News, Wrkhouse, and Wyatt.
Because it's a multi-venue festival, the music isn't all in one place. You'll be moving between different spaces across the city over the three days, rather than staying put in a single hall. It's that format that's made it a cornerstone of the Cardiff scene since it started in 2007, bringing together a mix of local and international acts across the artistic heart of Wales.
