Stand-up comedy tour of Bianca Del Rio, the RuPaul's Drag Race winner, celebrating 30 years of drag with her signature insult comedy.
Bianca Del Rio is coming to the New Theatre on Thursday 15 April 2027, with her new tour It Gets Bitter. It's her seventh solo stand-up tour, and the title is a nod to the milestone she's marking: 30 years in drag. Three decades of, in her own words, 'hating everything you stand for'.
If you're not familiar with the name, she's known offstage as Roy Haylock, a drag comedy icon who won season six of RuPaul's Drag Race. The New York Times once dubbed her the 'Joan Rivers of the Drag World', and she describes herself as a 'Clown in a Gown'. That's a fair summary of what she does: it's high-camp drag mixed with a sharp, uncompromising comic edge.
It Gets Bitter turns that tongue on the absurdities of modern life. The set blends tightly written stand-up with the quick-fire audience interaction that's made her a master of insult comedy. She bills the front row as a firing squad and warns anyone sensitive or easily offended to choose their seats carefully โ so if you're not in the mood to be the punchline, you might want to stick to the back. If you are, the front row is exactly where you want to be.
