The hit stage musical adaptation of the iconic 1985 film, featuring a DeLorean time machine and movie hits, on its first UK tour.
Back to the Future The Musical opens at the Donald Gordon Theatre on Tuesday 19 October, running through to Saturday 13 November. It's a stage adaptation of the 1985 film, brought to the stage by the movie's original creators Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis and directed by Tony Award winner John Rando. This is part of its first ever UK tour, so it's the first time the production has played here in Cardiff.
Axel Duffy takes the lead as Marty McFly. The score comes from multi-Grammy winners Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, and they've woven in the movie hits you'll recognise: 'The Power of Love', 'Johnny B. Goode', 'Earth Angel' and 'Back in Time'. The production is fronted by a show-stopping DeLorean time machine, and the reviews have been positive — Metro called it a 'high-voltage comedy' and The Telegraph a 'feelgood triumph'. It picked up Best New Musical at the Olivier Awards, the WhatsOnStage Awards and the Broadway World Awards.

There are a few practical things to keep in mind if you're planning to go. The age guidance is 8+, with no under-2s admitted, and all under-16s need to be seated with an adult aged 18 or over. It's a full stage production, so expect loud sounds, strobe lighting, haze, fire and pyrotechnics throughout. The Donald Gordon Theatre is part of the Wales Millennium Centre on Bute Place, Cardiff, CF10 5AL, and the show runs from Tuesday 19 October to Saturday 13 November, with performances starting at 7:30 PM.
