A show of winter stories and songs with myth and music, brought together by storyteller Hannah Moore and folk musician Danny Pedler.
Winter Calling comes to the Museum of Cambridge on Saturday 28 November, a show of winter stories and songs that draws on everything from true events in snow-clad forests to solstice legends and fiery folk tales. It's described as humming with myth and music, built to warm the bones and stir the heart.
Two people are behind it. Storyteller Hannah Moore comes to the show from a background in theatre and dance, with work for the RSC, Oxford Playhouse, Circomedia and the National Centre for Folk Arts. She trained as a traditional storyteller on the School of Storytelling's Storytelling Beyond Words and also tours the immersive dance party Fairy Tale Ceilidh as a ceilidh caller. Folk musician and historian Danny Pedler is rooted in the English folk tradition; he's toured with the folk supergroup TARREN since his 2018 project Field and Dyke, a collaboration with Greg Russell.

Together they'll be weaving those stories and songs through the evening, with the winter theme running from the true accounts to the legends. It's a night of storytelling and folk music rather than a formal concert, and it's held in the Enid Porter Room at the museum, 2-3 Castle Street, Cambridge, CB3 0AQ. The show runs from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday 28 November.
