Night of emerging local bands on the J1 stage at Cambridge Junction, aimed at young people and serving as a path into Fiver Fest.
The Fiver returns to Cambridge Junction on Friday 30 October, with five local bands sharing the J1 stage. The bill features Chaos Dolls, The Contrives, The Sessions, The Disagreement, and Max Volume.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, it's a longstanding Junction event that gives emerging local bands their first taste of the professional music industry. Each band gets a slot on the J1 stage, and the night serves as a path into Fiver Fest. The Junction team backs the bill with professional mentoring and advice, and the nights are aimed squarely at young people, who make up the majority of the audience and are being offered their first proper gig experience. One past participant, Liam G, thanked the Junction team for giving young artists the space to grow and perform on a professional stage.
Cambridge Junction itself has been the home of original arts, entertainment and creativity in the city since 1990, and The Fiver is one of the ways it keeps that going by putting new talent in front of a crowd. With five bands on a single bill, it's a long night of music rather than a single headline act, so you'll get to hear a good range of what's coming up from the local scene.
