Monthly networking morning at the University Arms Hotel with complimentary refreshments for Cambridge's founders, consultants and professionals.
The Common Thread returns to the University Arms Hotel on Thursday 10 December, from 10am to 12pm. It's the hotel's relaxed monthly networking morning, run in collaboration with Neil Bharadwa, founder of The Cambridge Fruit Company. The idea is simple: it brings together Cambridge's founders, consultants, creatives and professionals to make new connections over complimentary tea, coffee, pastries and fresh fruit, in an easy-going gathering where conversation flows naturally.
If you're new to it, the name fits. The whole point is to find the common thread between people who might not otherwise cross paths — a founder chatting with a consultant, or a creative catching up with a professional. It's less about the formal pitch and more about the casual conversation that happens when you're standing around with a coffee in your hand. Because it's a morning thing, it fits into the start of the working day rather than taking over your evening.
It's a regular on the Cambridge calendar, so if you've been meaning to get out and meet more of the people working across the city, this is a low-pressure way to do it. You don't need a specific agenda or a polished presentation; you just turn up and talk. The complimentary refreshments — tea, coffee, pastries and fresh fruit — are there to keep things moving, and the relaxed atmosphere means you can stay for as long or as short as you like.
