The bEAT bring their 2-Tone tour 'Dance Crazed Too' to the Corn Exchange, with special guest The Selecter and DJ Rhoda Dakar.
The bEAT play the Cambridge Corn Exchange on Sunday 18 October, as part of their Dance Crazed Too tour. They're fronted by vocalist Dave Wakeling, and they've brought along The Selecter as special guest, with DJ Rhoda Dakar on the decks. The whole night is billed as a celebration of Two-Tone.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, the history does. The bEAT formed in 1979 and made an immediate mark with their debut Two-Tone single 'Tears of a Clown', which hit number six in the UK charts and put them in the same conversation as The Specials and Madness. Across three albums they turned out classics like 'Mirror in the Bathroom', 'Hands Off... She's Mine', 'Too Nice to Talk To' and 'Save It for Later', and they ended up as one of the era's defining bands. They've toured with The Clash, The Police and David Bowie, and their 2023 UK tour sold out.
This tour, Dance Crazed Too, keeps that Two-Tone focus at the centre. With The Selecter supporting, you've got two bands from the same scene on one bill, and Rhoda Dakar keeping the energy going between them. It's a night built around the sound and the era they both come from, rather than just a headline set with a random opener.
