Beginners' stand-up night where students of Tom Roden's seven-week comedy workshop perform short routines on stage.
School of Comedy Sharing is at Cambridge Junction on Sunday 18 October, a night that works quite differently from your usual comedy club. Rather than a line-up of seasoned pros, the bill is built around a group of beginners who've spent the last seven weeks in a stand-up workshop led by Tom Roden. Over those sessions, they've been learning the basics of writing and performing their own material, and this evening is the culmination of it all.
Instead of a standard club night, the students themselves take the stage to perform a short routine each, and the whole thing is as much about celebrating their work together as it is about the individual sets. It's a chance to see people stepping up to the mic for one of the first times, with the bill built around them rather than around a headliner. If you've ever wondered what actually goes into writing a comedy set, this is a good way to see the process in action.

The night runs for two hours, starting at 7:30 PM in J3, with unreserved seating, so you'll want to get there a bit early if you've got a particular spot in mind. Tickets are £5.50 for ages 14 and up.
