Family drawalong in which children's writer and illustrator Nick Sharratt shares his favourite books, introduces new ones and shows how to draw characters.
Nick Sharratt is coming to Cambridge Junction on Sunday 25 April 2027 for Once Upon A Drawalong, a family drawalong for all ages. It's a session where you draw along with him rather than just watching, and it's aimed at ages four and over, with children under twelve needing to be accompanied by an adult.
Sharratt will be sharing some of his favourite books and introducing brand new ones, and showing you how to draw characters and create your own, with tips and games woven in throughout. If you've got kids who love to doodle, it's the kind of thing they can actually get stuck into rather than just sitting still.
For those who don't know him, Sharratt has illustrated around 300 books, including You Choose, Shark in the Park and the Pants series. He's worked with authors like Julia Donaldson, Michael Rosen and Kes Gray, and has illustrated many of Dame Jacqueline Wilson's popular children's novels. He was also awarded a gold Blue Peter badge.

The session starts at 1:00 PM in J2, which is unreserved seating, and runs for 75 minutes with no interval. Tickets are £15.50 for adults and £11 for children. Signed books will be on sale at the venue, and you're asked to bring your own drawing things, paper and something to lean on.
