Standing ska-punk gig by Millie Manders & The Shutup at Cambridge Junction's MASH area, ages 16+.
Millie Manders & The Shutup play Cambridge Junction on Wednesday 28 October, in the Mash room. It's a ska-punk night, and they're the only name on the bill.
They formed in London back in 2015, fronted by Millie, whose vocal range sits over grinding guitars and a horn section. They've played main stages at festivals like Slam Dunk, Beautiful Days and Rebellion, and have had support from BBC Introducing and Radio X. Vive Le Rock once called them the UK's answer to The Interrupters, which gives you a fair idea of the sound they're after.
Their lyrics cover a wide spread of ground: loss, betrayal, anger, anxiety, heartbreak, environmental catastrophe and political unrest. They're known for the energy of their live shows, and 2026 finds them writing their third album, so there's new material in the works. On the merch table, they keep things plastic-free, and they sell limited edition artwork and clothing to raise money for charity.
