Stand-up show by comedian Joe Wells about fatherhood and neurodiversity, with the comedian and his wife expecting a baby.
Joe Wells brings his new show, Daddy Autism, to Cambridge Junction on Thursday 12 November, with the curtain going up at 7:30pm. It's a stand-up set that looks at fatherhood through the lens of neurodiversity, and there's a personal clock ticking behind it: Wells and his wife are expecting a baby, so the material comes from a place of actually going through it rather than just talking about it.
If you've come across his work before, you'll know he doesn't shy away from putting his own autism front and centre. This is a new show, but it sits in the same territory as his previous Fringe runs: I Am Autistic in 2022, King of the Autistics in 2023, and I Hope I Die Before I Start Voting Conservative back in 2017. He's also written a book this year, Abigoliah Schamaun & Joe Wells - Neurodivergent Moments, so there's a fair bit of neurodivergent thinking to go around.
He's been doing this a while, too. He won Comedy Central's Funniest Student award in 2010 and has performed extensively at the Edinburgh Fringe. His work has drawn praise from The Guardian and Frankie Boyle, and he's appeared on Rosie Jones' Disability Comedy Extravaganza, BBC Two's Ouch Storytelling Live, and Channel 4's Jokes Only a Neurodivergent Can Tell, which has racked up over 20 million views online.

One thing to keep in mind before you book: this is adult stand-up with swearing and inappropriate jokes, not a relaxed performance for children. It's for ages 14 and over. Tickets are £20, and the show is in J3, which is unreserved seating, so you'll want to get in early if you've got a preference for where you sit. That's Joe Wells at Cambridge Junction on Thursday 12 November, 7:30pm.
