Stand-up show by London comedian Grace Campbell, touring the UK, about identity, contradiction and letting go of expectations.
Grace Campbell brings her show The Lady is a Tramp to Cambridge Junction on Monday 2 November, as part of a UK tour. Campbell is a London-based comedian, writer, director and actor, and this is a solo stand-up set.
In The Lady is a Tramp, she describes herself as finally stopping the effort of trying to fit into the tiny boxes she's felt she had to contort herself into, and asks why she can't just be everything at once. She calls it a bold, messy and self-aware dive into identity, contradiction and letting go of expectations, told by a woman who has lived through many breakdowns and rebirths. It's a show that doesn't shy away from the contradictions, and it's recommended for ages 16 and over, with trigger warnings for sex and drugs.
Campbell has built a reputation for sharp wit, uncompromising honesty and a provocative tone that's made her one of the more interesting comics of her generation, and she's often described as an accidental voice for Gen-Z women. The reviews have been strong: Chortle gave the show four and a half stars and called her 'a rock star', i News gave it five, and Metro four.
