A theatre-making and devising workshop run by Mad Bad Productions, open to everyone aged 16 and over with no prior experience required.

Mad Bad Productions are running Mad Bad Lab, a theatre-making and devising session at the Trinity Centre on Thursday 5 November. It's a workshop rather than a performance, so the whole point is to get involved rather than watch from the stalls.
They describe it as a space for radical creativity and self-expression without fear of judgement, and the session is open to everyone aged 16 and over. That's the key bit: you don't need any prior experience to join in. It's aimed at people trying theatre for the first time as much as those returning to a lifelong passion, so you can turn up knowing absolutely nothing about how a rehearsal works and still fit right in.
The work focuses on connection—with yourself and with others—and it's built around games, breathwork, movement and text exploration. That's a fair bit of ground to cover in one morning, so expect to be moving around and working through different ways of thinking about performance rather than just sitting in a circle talking. It's about the process of making something from scratch, which is what the 'devising' part of the title refers to.

It runs from 11:15 am to 1:45 pm, so it's a mid-morning session that wraps up before lunch. The price is pay what you can, so you can contribute what you're able to. If you've ever wanted to try your hand at theatre without the pressure of a formal class or a script to learn, this is a good place to start.
