Vicious Charm-vol 1

Brighton’s music scene has a new addition on the calendar with the first instalment of Vicious Charm, organised by the label Vicious Charm Recordings. The event is scheduled for 10 April 2026 at the Alphabet Bar, located at 11 Dyke Road. It is an 18+ event, so keep that in mind if you are planning to head down.

The night is structured around three DJs—Jim, Aymen Rostom, and Damian Harris—who will be rotating throughout the evening. The approach here is to shift through different styles as the night progresses. Jim, who you might know from his work as Ron Basejam or with Crazy P, is starting the set with a focus on folk, balearic, and yacht rock tracks from his album 'Love Makes Magic', before transitioning into the disco house sounds associated with his other projects. Following him, Aymen Rostom, also known as Mystery Tiime or The Maghreban, will open with dub post-punk material similar to his debut LP 'Maudlin Tales of Grief & Love', eventually moving into the house and rave sounds he produces as The Maghreban. Finally, label boss Damian Harris will open with dub tracks from 'Generalisation', with the rest of his set shifting towards disco, italo, and other genres depending on how the room feels.

As with many events in the city, this is a guide price and can fluctuate, so it is worth checking the current status before you go. The Alphabet Bar is a familiar spot for many, and this setup seems designed to offer a mix of genres across the evening, moving from more laid-back or experimental sounds into club-focused rhythms.
