Live DJ and remix set by James Lavelle, Unkle, at Chalk, part of the Mutations Festival 2026.
Unkle are playing Chalk on Saturday 24 October, with James Lavelle taking the helm for a live DJ and remix set. The night is billed as Unkle Sounds, and it's part of Mutations Festival 2026, so it's one of several events running across the city that weekend rather than a standalone gig. The set is described as an audio-visual journey through deep cuts and club classics from the Unkle catalogue, so you'll hear the less obvious tracks alongside the better-known ones, with visuals running throughout.
Lavelle isn't alone on the bill, either. DJ Food are listed alongside him, and if you've followed Unkle since the beginning, that name will ring a bell: they were the production team behind the early records, so it's a bit of a full-circle moment to have them back on the same night. Between the two, the set should cover a fair stretch of the project's history, from the trip-hop and breakbeat of the early years through to the more club-focused stuff that came later.

Tickets went on sale on Wednesday 30 September, with a limit of six per customer. It's 18+ general admission standing, so there are no seats — just a dancefloor. The night starts late, with the set kicking off at 22:30, so it's more of a late-night one than an early evening. Tickets are £28.13 including fees, which works out to about £25 face value. If you're planning to go, it's worth keeping in mind it's part of Mutations, so there'll be other things happening around Brighton that same weekend.
