A drum and bass night headlined by the genre's pioneer Goldie, with support from RIZ LA TEEF and Medic MC, part of the Brighton Festival.
Goldie plays Chalk on Thursday 12 November, part of the Brighton Festival. He's billed as drum 'n' bass's first superstar, the producer who did more than anyone to popularise the genre's raw sounds. He paved the way through his influential Metalheadz Records and released Timeless, one of the first albums of the genre, and was later awarded an MBE for services to music.
He's not on his own for the night. The bill rounds out with Rinse FM resident RIZ LA TEEF, a dubplate tastemaker across UK garage, UK funky, dubstep and grime, and Medic MC, a London-raised, Bristol-based performer emerging as a leading talent among the next generation of lyricists. It's a night that pulls from a few different corners of the UK underground, with Goldie's drum 'n' bass and jungle at the centre.
