Club night featuring the influential UK techno producer Dave Angel at The WaterBear Venue.
Dave Angel is playing The WaterBear Venue on Saturday 3 October, part of the Underground Playground club night. It's a late one, running from 22:00 through to 03:00, so it's more of a night out than a quick trip in and out.
If you're not familiar with the name, Angel is one of the big names in UK techno. He built his reputation by bringing together the grit of Detroit techno and the warmth of jazz and soul, and he's spent years working with labels like R&S and Rotation. It's that particular mix — the harder, industrial edge of techno balanced out with something a bit more melodic and soulful — that's defined his sound and kept him on dancefloors around the world. This is a club night, so the focus is on the dancefloor rather than a seated performance.

Underground Playground is the night hosting him, and the venue is The WaterBear, over on Monarch's Way in Brighton. It's a Saturday night, and the music goes until 3am, so there's plenty of room to settle in. Tickets are £12 to £15, and the whole thing runs from 22:00 to 03:00.
