Screening of new short films and mini-documentaries about British Jewish life, followed by a Q&A, at Duke's at Komedia.
British-Jewish Life on Film comes to Duke's at Komedia on Sunday 22 November, part of the 30th edition of the UK Jewish Film Festival. This year's festival marks a return to Brighton, where it first started back in 1997, so there's a bit of a homecoming feel to the whole thing.
The evening is a programme of brand-new films about British Jewish life, all commissioned this year by the festival's Film Factory. It's a mix of mini-documentaries and short dramas from across the length and breadth of the UK, put together to show the diversity of the community. The films are all 2026 UK productions, many of them world premieres, and several have already picked up awards: the Pears Short Film Fund 2026, the Dangoor UKJF Film Fund 2026, and the Changing Perspectives Film Fund 2026. Once the films have finished, the night continues with a Q&A, so you'll get a chance to hear from the people behind them.

It's a one-off evening rather than a full festival run, so if you're interested, it's worth getting your ticket in advance. The session starts at 6.00pm at Duke's at Komedia, 44-47 Gardner Street, Brighton BN1 1UN, and adult standard tickets are £14.50, sold through Picturehouse Cinemas.
