World AIDS Day screening of the 2020 performance film HIV The Naked Truth, marking its sixth anniversary and open to over-18s only.
The Duke of York's Picturehouse is screening HIV The Naked Truth on Saturday 28 November, from 11:00 to 13:00. It's a performance film that runs for an hour, and the screening is open to over-18s only.
The film was shot during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 across several countries, bringing together performing artists from around the world. Among them are Mara Galeazzi, Sasha Mukhamedov, Danilo Palmieri and Arun Blair-Mangat. Founder Joshua Royal says it was made at a time when international travel and collaboration had been brought to an almost complete standstill, yet artists still found a way to come together.
It's being shown here to mark the sixth anniversary of HIV The Naked Truth, the organisation that uses artistic expression to challenge HIV stigma, and to coincide with World AIDS Day. The profits go to two community-based HIV charities: Positive East in London and Lunch Positive in Brighton, both of which provide practical and emotional support to people living with HIV.
