A theatrical ritual where storyteller Lumi the Host guides an audience through archetype, embodiment and humour in an intimate, queer-celebrating performance.
Lumi the Host brings Theatre of Wholiness to The Lantern Theatre on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 November, with both nights starting at 19:00. It's a two-night run, so you've got a choice of evening if one doesn't fit your schedule.
It's hard to pin down exactly what you're signing up for, and that's part of the point. The show is described as part theatre, part ritual, and part 'glitch in the matrix', and it's built around an intimate space where identity shapeshifts and the ordinary loosens its grip. Lumi the Host—a glitch-witch storyteller and sassy steward of the in-between—leads the way through archetype, embodiment, humour, and presence. The whole thing is co-created with the room as a one-off collective moment, so what happens depends as much on the people there as it does on the script.
Lumi describes the piece as playful, tender, and disarming, a celebration of queer becoming and the art of returning to yourself. It's a 60-minute show, recommended for ages 16 and over. If you're into performance that blurs the line between the stage and the audience, this is exactly that kind of thing.
