A stage adaptation of Thomas Harris's classic horror novel, following FBI trainee Clarice Starling as she interviews the imprisoned psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter to catch the serial killer Buffalo Bill.
The Silence of the Lambs comes to the Theatre Royal from 1 to 6 March, a stage adaptation of Thomas Harris's horror novel. It follows FBI trainee Clarice Starling, who's sent to interview the imprisoned psychiatrist and murderer Hannibal Lecter in the hope that his brilliant mind will help catch the sadistic serial killer known as Buffalo Bill. As another girl goes missing and time runs out, Lecter has questions of his own, and Starling has to decide whether to keep a safe distance or let him into her head.
It's billed as the world's first live staging of the novel, and it made its debut in 2026 at Leicester's Curve theatre before heading out on a major UK and Ireland tour. Critics have called it a slickly cinematic production and one of the most gripping pieces of theatre of the year.
John Partridge takes on the role of Hannibal Lecter, with Mollie Gallagher as Clarice Starling. Oliver Farnworth plays Jack Crawford and Sam Jackson as Buffalo Bill. The production is directed by Nikolai Foster and adapted by Gina Gionfriddo.
