Weekly stand-up comedy night with around seven acts across three sections, presented by The Secret Comedy Club under a no-heckling policy.
The Secret Comedy Club is back at Artista on Wednesday 21 October, with the night running from 8:00pm to 10:30pm. It's part of their Wednesday series, which they bill as the South Coast's premier comedy night, held in what they describe as Brighton's friendliest and most inclusive independent room.
The format is a good one if you like a bit of variety in a single sitting. There are around seven acts spread across three lively sections with two breaks in between, so you've got time to stretch your legs and grab a drink. The mix is what makes it: established comedians turn up to work on fresh material, while up-and-coming acts use the night to try and secure a spot at the club's weekend shows. It's a bit of a peek behind the curtain, hearing new bits before they're polished up for a full set.
For this particular Wednesday, the line-up is Emmy Fyles, Sasha Ellen, Michael Campuzano, Heather Elizabeth, Joe Foster, Tom Simons and David Tsonos. With seven names on the bill, there's a fair bit of ground to cover across those three sections, and the mix of established and emerging acts means you'll get a few different styles in one go.

It's a 16+ event, and there's a strict no-heckling policy in place to keep the evening friendly and fun, so it's more about watching and laughing than trying to be part of the act. A standard ticket is £6.50, and since it's a mid-week night, it's an easy one to fit in without committing a whole weekend. Just keep in mind that late arrivals aren't refunded, so it's worth getting there on time to catch the full run from 8:00pm.
