Free artist talk by Eva Kalpadaki on the seafront, exploring her practice and approach to creativity in relation to her exhibition 'SA TA NA MA'.
Eva Kalpadaki is holding an artist talk, The Sea, Stillness & Creativity, on the Brighton seafront on Friday 16 October, from 3.30pm to 5pm. It's part of her outdoor exhibition SA TA NA MA, which runs until 30 October. You'll find her by the railings at the level of Lansdowne Place, to the right of the Victorian seaside shelter.
The exhibition centres on two large prints made during an 11-minute meditation by the sea, with the camera programmed to take one photograph per minute. Kalpadaki, a Brighton-based fine art photographer, says being in the water makes her feel alive and calls the seafront her 'happy place', essential to her physical and mental wellbeing and an immense source of inspiration for her work. The images explore stillness, time, and the relationship between photographer, camera, and environment.
During the talk, she'll be standing beside the prints with the same tripod she used to capture them. It's a free session, and it's one of several things she's running throughout Brighton Photo Fringe: there's also an online talk, Photography Creativity Undressed, on Thursday 22 October from 7pm to 9pm, and a mindful photography workshop on Friday 23 October from 3pm to 5pm. She's also offering online mentoring sessions across the festival.

If you're around the seafront on the 16th, the talk is free and runs from 3.30pm to 5pm. The prints themselves stay on display until 30 October, so you can see them even if you can't make the talk.
