Clubnight of the underground music magazine Offie Mag featuring DJ Plentyppl, a night of Black dance music with all profits going to BARCO.
The Offie Mag Social is back at Alphabet on Saturday 25 July, with plentyppl taking the decks. It's the monthly clubnight run by the underground music magazine Offie Mag, and this one marks its fifth month on the go. The night is built around Black dance music, and they describe it as being about the carefree enjoyment of it, which is a good way to frame what it's all about.
plentyppl is the main feature for the evening. The DJ recently turned two years old, so this is a relatively new name in the rotation. If you've been following the Offie Mag nights since they started, you'll know the format: a focused night of Black dance music, with the DJ given plenty of room to work through the records. This is the fifth edition of the social, and it's continuing to run as a regular fixture in the city's underground music scene.
There's a clear purpose behind the night, too. All profits go to BARCO (Black Anti-Racism Community Organisation), a community organisation based here in Brighton. So, whatever you spend on the door goes straight to them, rather than staying with the promoters.

It all goes down at Alphabet, 11 Dyke Road, BN1 3FE, starting at 22:30. Tickets are £11.33, and since it's a Saturday night, there's plenty of time to get there and settle in before the music takes over.
