A vibrant family show celebrating the history of the Brighton Palace Pier through storytelling, music, and dance.
The End of the Pier Show is returning to Horatio's Showbar on the Brighton Palace Pier this summer, running from 10 August through to 28 August 2026. It is a 50-minute family-oriented production that centres on the history of the pier. The show uses a mix of storytelling, music, and dance to explore the landmark's evolution, aiming to connect the past, present, and future of the site. The creators describe the show as a way to highlight how seaside theatre fosters a sense of community and shared joy for audiences of all ages, making it a production designed to be accessible to everyone from children to older generations.

The musical programme is designed to bridge different eras, combining classic songs with modern hits to evoke a sense of coastal nostalgia. The creative team behind the production includes writers and producers Allison Ferns and Jack Pallister, with Jack also taking on the role of choreographer. Josh Mills is the musical director, and the visual side of the performance, including the set design, is handled by Plunge Creations. By bringing these elements together, the show attempts to reflect the specific character of the pier as a cultural space in the city, using the performance to connect different eras of the landmark’s history.
If you are planning to attend, the performances are scheduled from Monday to Friday, with two daily sessions available: 13:00 to 14:00 and 15:00 to 16:00. Because this is a separate event from the general pier admission, you will need to book tickets in advance to secure a spot, as capacity is limited. The standard ticket price is £5.00. The venue, Horatio's Showbar, is situated at the very end of the pier and is fully accessible for wheelchair users. There are also food and drink facilities available within the venue for those attending the show, allowing you to grab a refreshment while you watch.
