Three-hour children's activity day with a theatre show, a craft workshop and dancing to a house band for ages 2 to 8.
Sundae Club returns to Komedia Brighton on Sunday 24 January, one of several dates they're running across the winter. It's a family session run by Komedia Productions, aimed at children aged 2 to 8, and it stretches over three hours rather than a single show. The whole thing follows a set format: a children's theatre show, a creative craft workshop led by Saj from Pull & Pin, and dancing to the house band.
Families bring their own packed lunch, and ice cream sundaes, hot drinks and snacks are available on the day. There's also a breakout sensory space for children who get overwhelmed, with dimmed lights, a sensory tent, ear defenders and toys. It's the kind of thing that works if you've got little ones who need a bit of room to move and a change of pace throughout the morning.
Beyond the club, Komedia runs creative workshop programmes for young people, works with local schools and communities to deliver creative events, and partners with charities to give free access to families who might not otherwise be able to afford it. Parents of children with autism have praised the club as an affordable, high-quality kids' event.
