A comedy game show mixing classic 80s anthems, eye-watering bingo, ridiculous prizes and air guitars, presented by two mulleted Australians.
Bogan Bingo is back at Komedia on Tuesday 15 December, one of several dates they're running across the city this winter. It's a comedy game show that mixes classic 80s anthems with an eye-watering version of bingo, ridiculous prizes, air guitars and mullet haircuts, all held together by two mulleted Australian presenters and some deliberately appalling choreography. The Komedia shows are celebrating ten years of 'mullets & mayhem', and the night is followed by an 80s/90s DJ afterparty.
It's one of the UK's longest-running bingo shows and Brighton's number one comedy bingo night, so if you've never come across it, that's the basic pitch: bingo, but with a lot of 80s music and a fair bit of chaos thrown in. The whole thing is run by two Australians with mullets, and the choreography is meant to be bad. The reviews have been kind, too: The Argus called it 'glorious' and Three Weeks described it as 'joyfully silly'.
If you're not a night-out person, the format also works as a daytime party. There's a bottomless brunch that includes ninety minutes of selected drinks, a brunch meal with vegan and vegetarian options, bingo cards and prizes, and an afternoon delight session. That one is on Saturday 21 November at 12:30 pm, and tickets are £40.00 guide price. There's also an afternoon delight session on Saturday 24 October at 12:30 pm for £14.00.
