A group read-along session to celebrate the launch of The Story Trail, with the opportunity to meet artist Fiona Blair.
The Story Trail launches in Pavilion Gardens on Saturday 12 September, with a group read-along from 11:00 to 12:30. It's the opening of a wider trail that runs across the city from 12 September to 8 November 2026, and the read-along is one of the first ways to get involved.
The session is a group read-along, and you're asked to bring a book along with you. The artist Fiona Blair will be there, too; she designed the sculpture that stands nearby in the gardens, so you'll be reading just a stone's throw from her work. There will be photos taken during the event, so keep that in mind if you're bringing the kids.
The whole thing is put on by Amaze, a local charity that supports families with disabled children, in partnership with Wild in Art. They describe The Story Trail as a free, fun and family-friendly adventure, and the read-along is just the start — the trail itself stays open for nearly two months, through to 8 November, so you can work your way through it at your own pace.

It's free to attend, though you do need to register in advance. The read-along runs from 11:00 to 12:30 on Saturday 12 September at Pavilion Gardens, near the cafe on New Road, BN1 1UG.
