Live music, storytelling and sensory fun for babies under 18 months, led by Tashi and Jack of the children's theatre company Fideri Fidera.
Story Magic – Baby Sessions are running at Komedia throughout the autumn and winter, with sessions on Fridays 23 October, 6 November, 13 November, 20 November, 4 December, 11 December and 18 December. It's live music, storytelling and sensory play for babies under 18 months, led by Tashi and Jack of the award-winning children's theatre company Fideri Fidera.
Each session lasts 35 minutes and explores a different story, weaving together original songs, classic nursery rhymes, sensory props and puppets. The two of them run it as a way to build connection and support development in those first few months, and the room stays open until 1:30 PM, so there's no rush to bolt the moment it finishes. It's the kind of thing that's as much for the adults as the babies — a chance to sit in a room with other parents and a bit of music rather than just another morning at home.
The show has picked up some strong reviews along the way. Edinburgh Life with Kids called one of the performers 'the most gifted story-teller I've ever seen', and Families Edinburgh noted that it 'captivates even the youngest of children'. Between the songs and the puppets, it's designed to hold the attention of babies who aren't usually ones for sitting still.
