An interactive storytelling class for young children (9 months to 5 years) led by the award-winning children's theatre company Fideri Fidera, using songs, rhymes, games and puppets.
Fideri Fidera are running Story Magic at Komedia Studio this summer, a series of interactive classes for children aged nine months to five years. It's led by Tashi and Jack, two of the company's performers, and each session runs for 40 minutes. They work through children's stories using original songs, classic nursery rhymes, games and puppets, so it's a mix of singing and doing rather than just sitting and listening. The whole thing is designed for parents and children to go through together.
Fideri Fidera is an award-winning Anglo-Swiss theatre company that creates original work for families. They're artist-led and tour their productions—Franky!, Oskar's Amazing Adventure and Will Tell and the Big Bad Baron are among them—and they've played everywhere from village halls to major theatres. Story Magic is their classroom offering, and Tashi and Jack are the ones leading the sessions.
The weekly classes run on Fridays: 10, 17 and 24 July, and 7, 14 and 21 August, with two earlier dates on Wednesday 3 July and Thursday 3 July. If you've got older children, there's also a Holiday Club for five- to eight-year-olds on 12, 13, 19 and 20 August, where they learn songs, dances and performance skills over two days to put together their own material. Between the two, there's plenty to pick from across the summer.
