Stories with Skip - On the Farm

Stories with Skip returns to the Theatre Royal Brighton on Saturday 3 October, with this session titled On the Farm. It's part of a children's theatre programme fronted by its mascot, Skip the mouse, and each session takes on a different theme. This one is all about the farm, and it's built to be relaxed, gentle and full of things for curious toddlers to see, touch and play with, before the group heads upstairs for a story in a cosy lounge. It's a slow-paced way to introduce little ones to the theatre, with plenty of room for them to explore and be curious rather than just sitting still.

The session is aimed squarely at the smallest audience: age guidance puts it best for children aged two and a half to four. It's a shared experience, so both adults and children need a ticket. If you've got a toddler in that bracket, it's a good shout for a Saturday morning out that doesn't ask too much of them.

The setting adds its own bit of history. The Theatre Royal Brighton on New Road is a Grade II* listed building that's been entertaining audiences for more than 218 years, making it one of the oldest theatres in the country. It's a grand old place, and there's something quite sweet about seeing it used for a toddler's storytelling session.

There are two sessions on the day, at 10:15am and 11:30am, each lasting an hour. Tickets are £7.00 per show, and you'll need one for every adult and child in your group.
