A night of punk rock and garage rock featuring The Cynz, Stupidity, and Yobs at Daltons in Brighton.
On Sunday, 26th April, the Shake Some Acton series reaches its 144th instalment, taking over Daltons for an evening dedicated to punk and garage rock. For those who haven't visited the venue recently, you’ll find it situated on the Lower Promenade, specifically underneath the Brighton Zip on Madeira Drive. It’s a spot that has become a regular fixture for these kinds of underground shows. The timing for the night is relatively early, with doors opening at 19:00 and the first performance expected to begin at 19:15. While one source mentions a 20:00 start, the earlier slot seems to be the primary plan for getting the three-band bill underway.

The international nature of the lineup is one of the more notable aspects of this edition. The Cynz are arriving from New York City, bringing a style of punk rock and roll that draws heavily from the heritage of the classic CBGB scene. The band is fronted by Cyndi Dawson alongside Henry Seiz, and they represent that specific East Coast energy. Joining them are Stupidity, who are making the trip from Stockholm, Sweden. Their approach to garage rock is known for being energetic but also incorporates elements of soul, offering a different texture to the night's sound. To finish the trio, Yobs will be travelling down from Liverpool. They play what they call ‘Yob Rock,’ which is a more primitive, potent, and anarchic version of the genre, providing a raw contrast to the other two acts.
If you’re planning to head down, the entry cost is set at £11.00, which breaks down as a £10.00 ticket price plus a £1.00 commission fee. It’s worth noting that the event is strictly for those aged 18 and over, which is standard for most shows at this location. Given the Sunday date, the early start and finish times are practical for anyone who needs to be up for work the following morning but still wants to catch a full set of international touring bands. The venue’s position right on the seafront gives the whole thing a very specific Brighton atmosphere, especially for a night focused on the noisier end of the musical spectrum.
