Air-dry clay workshop to create a clay portrait of your pet, led by artist Jenni Reika.
Sculpt Your Pet is a clay workshop running at The Hope & Ruin on Thursday 23 July, from 19:00 to 21:00. Over the two hours, you'll be guided through the basics of pet portrait sculpting to make a small clay version of your own animal—whether that's a cat, a dog, a rat, or a hamster. It's led by artist Jenni Reika, and the whole thing is designed for all skill levels, so you don't need any prior experience to get stuck in. All the materials and tools are provided on the night, which means you can just turn up and start.
Depending on what you're after, you can make a piece of wall decor or a small trinket to take home. The workshop is run at The Hope & Ruin, which is a dog-friendly bar, so you can have a drink while you work. You're encouraged to bring along a photo of your pet to work from, or if you have a dog, you can bring them with you to the session. Once you've finished your sculpture, it takes about 48 hours to dry, and after that you can paint it with acrylics if you fancy it.
