A community celebration with live entertainment, food, charity stalls, family activities and volunteering opportunities, organised by the Brighton & Hove Soirée Rotary Club.
The Rotary Family Festival & Big Help Out returns to Hove Park on Sunday 6 June 2027, and it's coming back larger than before. The Brighton & Hove Soirée Rotary Club is behind it, and they've announced two new zones for this edition, so it's growing in scale from previous years. It's one of the city's biggest community days, and it sits within the national Big Help Out, which is all about volunteering.
The day is built around a few different things running at once. There's live entertainment, food, charity and community stalls, local businesses, family activities and volunteering opportunities. Dogs are welcome, so it's a proper all-ages, all-pets sort of afternoon. The full programme for this year hasn't been confirmed yet, but that's the general mix you can expect to find across the park.
Co-organisers Pip Weitz and Lyn Spencer describe the day as being about bringing people together and making the city more connected and vibrant, and they're expecting thousands of visitors. It's a community-run event rather than a commercial one, and the volunteering side of things is a big part of what it's for. If you've never heard of the Big Help Out, it's a national push to get people involved in volunteering, and this festival is the local expression of that.
