One of the biggest vegan events in the UK, returning to Brighton with over 100 stalls, talks, performances, food and fashion.
VegfestUK returns to Brighton on Saturday 7 November, taking over the DoubleTree Hilton Brighton Metropole on Kings Road. It's one of the city's long-standing fixtures and one of the biggest vegan events in the UK, and this is its first Brighton appearance in three years. It's returning to the refurbished Metropole, which should bring back the same feelgood atmosphere that marked the earlier vegan events here.
The scale of the day is what sets it apart. There are more than 100 stalls to work your way through, and the whole thing is spread across three halls and two floors. It's not just a market, either: there are three separate talks areas, a performance stage, a dedicated food village, and a campaigns area. Between the different sections, around 50 speakers and performers will be taking turns throughout the day, so you can drift from a talk to a performance and then over to the food without having to commit to one thing all afternoon.
Because it's spread across two floors and three halls, it's the kind of event you can spend a few hours at or a whole day, depending on how much you want to see. You've got the stalls for browsing, the talks for listening, and the food village for eating, with the campaigns area there if you're looking for something more active. It's a lot to take in, but that's the point — it's built to be wandered around rather than rushed.
