An interactive jewellery-making workshop where you learn wax carving to design your own bespoke sterling silver ring.
If you have been looking for a way to spend an afternoon in Brighton, there is a ring-making workshop happening at Posh Totty Designs on 19 March 2026. Located at 31 Sydney Street, this session focuses on the process of wax carving to create a bespoke sterling silver ring. You do not need any prior experience in jewellery making to participate, as the session is designed to guide you through the steps of sketching your ideas and using professional tools to carve your design into blue wax. It is a practical environment where you work at your own pace with the support of expert jewellers.

The workshop lasts for two hours and includes a demonstration from the tutors, who are there to assist throughout the process. During the session, you are provided with a cocktail, such as prosecco or fizz, to accompany the creative work. Once the carving is finished, the wax models are taken away to be cast in silver. You can expect to receive your finished ring by post in approximately three to four weeks. If you want to customise the piece further, there are options to add a personal stamp, gemstones, or specific words to the design.
Regarding the logistics, the price for the workshop ranges between £99.00 and £125.00, depending on the booking source. There are additional costs if you choose to have the ring plated in 9-carat yellow or rose gold, which typically adds £20 to £30 to the total, or you can enquire about converting the piece to solid 9-carat gold. The sessions are open to anyone over the age of 18 and are structured to accommodate small groups, with capacities ranging from 6 to 18 people depending on the specific booking. While the event on 19 March is the focus, the studio also runs regular sessions on Thursdays and Fridays from 18:00 to 20:00, and on weekends from 10:30 to 12:30. It is a straightforward way to spend a few hours if you are interested in the technical side of jewellery production.
