After-hours artist showcase featuring 1000 Rabbits at Resident Music, with proceeds going to Mind in Brighton & Hove.
1000 Rabbits play Resident Music on Wednesday 5 August, part of the Resident Lock In series. It's a mid-week one, running from 18:30 to 20:30, so you're in and out well before the night really gets going.
The Lock In is a bit of a specific thing: it's an after-hours showcase staged right on the shopfloor, between the racks, in a cosy setting with a capacity of around 180. It's one of the ways Resident highlights some of the new music they're keeping an eye on, and there's a local beer from North Garden Brewery on offer. The ticket proceeds go to Mind in Brighton & Hove, so it's a night that does a bit more than just put on a band.
On the bill is 1000 Rabbits, formerly known as Rabbitfoot. They describe their sound as folky, jazzy, eclectic and eccentric—a mix that suggests they don't stick to one lane. The gig marks the physical release of their EP, Are We Friends Yet?, so you'll be hearing the new material fresh from the press.

It's a short, early-evening set in a room that's usually full of records rather than a stage, with the whole thing running from 18:30 to 20:30. Standard tickets are £5.00, and the night is at Resident Music, 28 Kensington Gardens, BN1 4AL.
