A 90-minute guided tour exploring the history, architecture, and restoration of a 1820s town house in Brighton and Hove.
The Regency Town House Tour takes place at The Regency Town House in Hove, with the first session of the season starting on 20 June 2026. This 90-minute guided tour offers a look inside one of the best-preserved town houses from the 1820s in the Brighton and Hove area. The property is currently undergoing a long-term restoration to transform it into a heritage centre, which makes the visit quite distinct from a standard museum experience. You get to see the work in progress while learning about the history of the building itself.

The tour covers two specific parts of the site: the upper floors of the main property at No. 13 Brunswick Square and the basement annex at No. 10. It is a comprehensive look at how these properties were built, decorated, and used during the 18th and 19th centuries. The guides provide an introduction to the wider development of Brighton and Hove, placing the house within the context of the city's growth during that era. You will move through the main reception rooms, which show the formal side of Regency life, and then head down to the domestic offices in the basement to see how the household actually functioned behind the scenes.
There are multiple dates scheduled throughout the summer and autumn, including 20 June, 27 June, 1 July, 5 July, 25 July, 2 August, 8 August, 16 August, 24 August, 31 August, 5 September, 26 September, 30 September, 4 October, and 20 October 2026. If you are planning to go, it is worth noting that the organisers ask visitors to let them know in advance if they have difficulty standing for long periods, as they can arrange seating for those who need it. Tickets are priced at £15.00 per person, which includes booking fees, while students and those currently seeking employment can access a reduced rate of £10.00. It is a useful option if you have an interest in local history or architecture, though it is worth keeping in mind that this is a separate event from the Brunswick Town; Tour and Tea or The Brunswick Town Walk that also take place in the area.
