Immersive guided family experience led by Professor P. Tinkleberry, a storytelling and imaginative play hunt through the Royal Pavilion for children under 7.
Dragon Hunters Wanted! A Magical Quest comes to the Royal Pavilion on Friday 30 October, a guided family experience that turns the building's rooms into a bit of a scavenger hunt. It's led by Professor P. Tinkleberry, a characterful 'Senior Dragologist' who deputises visitors into an official Dragon Hunt Team, so the kids aren't just watching — they're part of the crew from the start.
The group follows a structured route through the Pavilion, stopping for storytelling along the way. There are three original dragon stories told in the Banqueting Room, the Saloon and the Music Room, and between them, the children pick up dragon-themed narratives, historical context and visual clues hidden in the building's architecture and decoration. It's a mix of performance and interactive observation tasks, with light physical and imaginative activities thrown in, and educational bits that link dragons to global cultures and the Pavilion's own design influences. The whole thing culminates in a gentle, theatrical reveal of a 'dragon' in the Lecture Room, playing on themes of curiosity, kindness and imagination. It's recommended for children under seven, so it's aimed at the younger end of the family crowd.
