A chill afternoon of collage-making to recontextualise images and build new narratives, with all proceeds going to gender-affirming care.
Gather CIC is hosting a Queer Collage Workshop on Saturday 24 October, starting at 14:00. It's an afternoon of chill collaging with fellow queers, and you don't need to bring a thing — Gather provides all the materials, so you can just turn up and get stuck in.
The session is built around the art of recontextualising images: taking old materials and rearranging them to build new narratives. It's a process the organisers describe as 'queering', and the whole afternoon is designed to be relaxed rather than high-pressure. There's room for optional follow-up prompts if you're looking for a bit of direction, and a space to share what you've made with the rest of the group towards the end of the session.

It's as much about the company as the collage, so if you're after a quiet afternoon of making alongside other queer people, this is a good shout. The workshop runs from 14:00 at Gather CIC, 39-41 Surrey St, Brighton, BN1 3PB, and all proceeds go towards gender affirming care. A standard ticket is £7.00, a guide price that may change, so it's worth checking the details before you head down.
