Brighton's biggest daytime pop party held at Chalk venue, featuring a playlist of major pop hits and singalongs.
Pop Mania is taking over Chalk on Saturday 31 October, a seven-hour stretch of pop music built around hits and singalongs. It runs from 15:00 to 22:00, so it's a daytime one rather than a late night — you'll be home and in bed while most people are just getting their evening started.
The organisers call it 'Brighton's biggest daytime pop party', and the playlist is built on the kind of songs that everyone knows the words to. They've listed Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Charli xcx, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo, so it's a mix of the current chart-toppers and the big names that have been around for a while. It's a broad reach across pop, and the whole thing is held together by the singalong side of things.
They're promising a party atmosphere with confetti on the go, and since it's a seven-hour run, there's plenty of room for the playlist to work its way through those names. It's not a line-up of live acts, but a long session of pop hits played back-to-back, with the singalong being the main thing. If you're into the pop end of things, it's a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon without having to stay out until the early hours.
